The class website is continually being updated and changed.
Be sure the click the "refresh" key when you come to visit our site
in order to see the latest additions and improvements. Your PC
"saves" pages and their images from websites that you visit frequently
in order to save time "loading" the page. If you do not
"refresh", your PC will load the page and images as they appeared
the last time you visited the site. By "refreshing"
your PC uses the latest code and images that create the page.

Parents or Any Adult
If you are letting children use the internet alone and have not
discussed internet safety with them, please take some time
and do that now. Even though these web sites are checked
regularly, to make sure they are suitable for children,
addresses constantly change. Also, once your child has left
one address to follow another link, they are off and running
on the web. Take time to look over these excellent resources
for safety on the web and discuss with your child
the tips you feel are important.

THIS IS A REMINDER THAT WASHINGTON IRVING WILL BE A LATEX-FREE SCHOOL STARTING THIS FALL.
We have a new student with a severe latex allergy.
1. IF YOU PURCHASED A SCHOOL SUPPLY PACK FROM PTO, WE HAVE VERIFIED THAT ALL PRODUCTS ARE LATEX-FREE.
2. IF YOU ARE SHOPPING FOR YOUR OWN SCHOOL SUPPLIES, PLEASE VERIFY THAT ALL PENCILS, ERASERS, AND PENCIL GRIPS ARE LATEX-FREE.
Pencils are on the supply list for every grade. Please send only new pencils that you can verify are latex free. Here are some brands to choose from:
Rose Art (all products latex free)
USA Gold (available at walmart and target)
Staples Brand
Dixon-Ticonderoga
Bic mechanical pencils
Any pencils clearly labeled "latex free"
Pink Pearl Erasers are on the supply list for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade. Pink Pearl erasers contain latex - do not send them to school. Please substitute with:
Paper Mate White Pearl Erasers
Paper Mate Expressions Erasers
Foohy Erasers (walmart)
Hi-Polymer Erasers by Pentel (walmart)
Maped Zenoa Eraers (target)
Staedtler Mars Plastic Erasers (staples)
Any large eraser specifically labeled "latex free"
Pencil Cap Erasers are on the supply list for 4th grade.
Please verify that the ones you purchase are latex free.
Staples brand cap erasers are labeled latex free and some others are as well.
3. RUBBER BANDS OR BALLOONS SHOULD NEVER BE SENT TO SCHOOL WITH YOUR STUDENT.
