A Little Information About Me.

I am Barbara Peterson. I teach 2nd grade at Washington Irving Elementary School in Edmond. This will be my 21st year to teach at Washington Irving and my 40th year to teach in Edmond Public Schools. My primary goal each year is challenging my students to become life-long learners and helping them to develop the skills to accomplish that.

I recieved my BA degree from Oklahoma City University and my M.Ed. (Reading Specialist) from the University of Central Oklahoma. While being born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, I have now spent many more years in Oklahoma so I guess that makes me an "Okie". But I still cheer for Penn State!

Among my passions are my dogs. I currently have three beautiful golden retrievers. Cooper, Alice and Bono. They are my constant and dearly beloved companions. Collecting teddy bears, Lizzie High dolls, Mary Hadley Pottery, and Hallmark Keepsake Christmas ornaments are among my "hobbies".
